A kiwi day out

On 24th October - it was the day after the Rugby World Cup final, which the All Blacks won, there was a free celebration event in the Auckland domain.  They had a concert, stalls from the different countries, games and activities for the kids and free ice cream (sponsored by Fonterra).  The weather had been a bit iffy in the morning but by the time we got there was warming up and actually got really hot in the middle of the afternoon.  We were sat out in the sun on the hill and had a lovely relaxed afternoon.  Fortunately they had a stall with St Johns ambulance with plenty of sunscreen, because we hadn't been prepared for how hot it was (and Adam and I got pretty burned, but at least we got the kids properly covered!)

And we stopped at the waterfront to see the giant rugby ball on the way home, unfortunately they had just closed it so we were a little bit too late to go in.
