No idea where to begin... It's been a little while since my last post due to the sheer mentalness of the last month or so. Adam left on 18th January and I had the task of finishing up here to be able to follow later.
I have now finished with our house. That simple statement doesn't even begin to describe what had to happen to get there. This means I have sold everything - we decided shipping was far too expensive, we would just sell up and start from scratch over there. (By the way we were quoted £2500 just for half a container!!). So to start with we spread the word that we were selling. Then I made a list of what was for sale, with prices, and circulated it around at church. One big bonus of us having to go to Grimsby for our meetings at the moment is that I was also able to get the list out to the other two units who also meet in that building. I was even a little cunning and when I was up there one saturday for a baptism, I went around and left copies of my list with my phone number on around in the various different rooms where I knew people would be meeting. It paid off and I got quite a bit sold to members of the 3 units at church and their respective friends and family who they told about it.
I also invited people to come over and have a look to see if they wanted anything.
Then there was ebay - I put some of the more sellable (is that a word?!?) stuff on there and sold a few things that way.
And then I had a garage sale - huge success would highly recommend doing one. I put posters up around my area and local walking routes to school and shops and things about a week beforehand. We moved the trampoline out to the side of the road to attract attention and quite a lot of people came by. Managed to sell a lot of the smaller things that way.
Some of the stuff that was left I put out by the road with a sign on over the next few days and they went too.
